Kate Douglas

Kate represents injured individuals, including railroad and maritime employees in actions brought under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act and the Jones Act.  She has extensive litigation experience in state and federal courts, both at the trial and appellate court levels, and has participated in multiple trials.  Prior to joining Schlichter Bogard & Denton, Kate was partner at a large international law firm where her practice focused on commercial litigation and personal injury. Kate was selected as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in Missouri and Kansas in 2012, 2013, and 2014.

Kate graduated from St. Louis University School of Law magna cum laude.  She was awarded Order of the Woolsack. While attending St. Louis University, Kate served as managing editor on the St. Louis University Law Journal and was a member of the school’s regional champion trial team. Prior to attending law school, Kate graduated summa cum laude from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a B.S. degree in speech communication.

Outside of work, Kate is an active member of the local community, serving on the Board of Directors for Landmarks Association of St. Louis and mentoring local law students. She has also presented continuing legal education courses to other attorneys on various topics relevant to civil litigation.  She enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her Welsh Corgi.
