Schlichter Bogard Featured in St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Missouri Lawyers Weekly in Aftermath of U.S. Supreme Court Victory on Behalf of Retirement Plan Participants

Schlichter Bogard & Denton is pleased to have been featured in a column published by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on January 27, 2022 as well as a front-page article in Missouri Lawyers Weekly published on February 1, 2022 discussing the impact of firm’s recent victory in the U.S. Supreme Court.

As previously reported, in a landmark 8-0 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court on January 24, 2022 unanimously ruled in favor of Northwestern University retirement plan participants represented by Schlichter Bogard & Denton.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch column highlights the fact that, by at least one estimate, “annual fees have fallen by $2.2 billion as a result of the wave of litigation that [Schlichter Bogard & Denton] started in 2006.” The column further notes the firm’s “perfect batting average” in the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Missouri Lawyers Weekly piece likewise notes that, “[f]or the second time in seven years,” Schlichter Bogard & Denton has “won a unanimous decision in the U.S. Supreme Court that clears the way for claims against employers whose retirement plans allegedly charged excessive fees.”  It goes on to note that the firm is a “pioneer” in litigation brought on behalf of retirement plan participants, and that the Northwestern case is one of two that the firm currently has before the U.S. Supreme Court.
