Andrew Schlichter

Andrew Schlichter is Co-Managing Partner of Schlichter Bogard. He is a trial lawyer who represents individuals in complex litigation.

Andrew leads Schlichter Bogard’s prosecution of class action, traumatic injury, whistleblower, and other cases against corporations in federal and state courts throughout the country. Chambers USA has repeatedly ranked him in Band 1, its highest tier, among Missouri plaintiffs’ attorneys, including in its current rankings. He has also been repeatedly recognized by his peers in Best Lawyers in America, including in the current edition in Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions and Privacy and Data Security Law.

Andrew has recovered compensation for hundreds of thousands of individuals harmed by corporate wrongdoing. By way of representative example:

• Courts have repeatedly appointed Andrew class counsel in litigation on behalf of current and former employees alleging breaches of fiduciary duty by their employers, including in first-of-their-kind cases that established critical protections for employees and recovered hundreds of millions of dollars.
• Andrew currently leads national data privacy class actions on behalf of millions of individuals whose private data was captured, transmitted, or misappropriated without their consent.
• Andrew has represented numerous individuals who suffered traumatic and other injuries as a result of wrongful conduct, including injured railroad workers, for whom he has obtained significant results, including a recent $20.5 million judgment. He served on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in In re East Palestine Train Derailment, which recovered $600 million for residents of affected communities, and routinely represents whistleblowers in False Claims Act and similar cases, including a recent matter that produced an $18.3 million recovery for the United States.

Andrew began his career as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge David R. Herndon of the Southern District of Illinois. Prior to joining Schlichter Bogard, he practiced at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York. He received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was Executive Editor of the Michigan Law Review and recipient of the Jason L. Honigman Award. He received his A.B. cum laude from Georgetown University.
