Counsel
Jason Kempf
Jason is Counsel with the firm. For more than twenty years he has litigated complex commercial and financial disputes in federal and state courts and in arbitration throughout the country. As first-chair trial counsel, he has tried and arbitrated high-stakes securities and financial products matters, and for the past decade his arbitration practice has centered on the fiduciary duties that broker-dealers and investment advisers owe their clients. He has led litigation teams through every phase of complex cases, including large-scale discovery, dispositive motions, expert and corporate representative depositions, and trial.
Jason brings a detailed understanding of how large companies operate from the inside. He previously served as Assistant General Counsel at Wells Fargo & Company, where he directed litigation and regulatory matters across one of the country’s largest wealth and investment management platforms, and as a litigation partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP, where he represented financial institutions, broker-dealers, and investment advisers before the Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He has conducted internal investigations involving anti-money-laundering, know-your-customer, and fraud issues, and has served on defense teams in multidistrict litigation, including the Vioxx pharmaceutical and BPA consumer safety proceedings. That deep experience in complex litigation matters now informs his work on behalf of injured plaintiffs.
Jason serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Tower Grove Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation in St. Louis.
