Washington University in St. Louis Honors Sue and Jerry Schlichter with Harris Award

Schlichter Bogard & Denton managing partner Jerry Schlichter, along with his wife Sue, have received this year’s Jane and Whitney Harris St. Louis Community Service Award.  Each year, Washington University in St. Louis chooses a St. Louis married couple to be honored “for extraordinary contributions to the culture and welfare of the metropolitan St. Louis area.”

The Schlichters “have demonstrated the type of commitment and dedication to the St. Louis region that Jane and Whitney cherished so highly and demonstrated in their own lives,” said then-Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton.  The contributions noted by the University included Jerry Schlichter’s roles as co-founder and board member of Arch Grants, a nationally renowned competition that provides equity-free startup grants, and as co-chair of the Economic Development Committee of Downtown St. Louis Inc., as well as Sue Schlichter’s work with underserved children through the couple’s nonprofit organization, Mentor St. Louis, and as chair of the program outcomes committee for the St. Louis Public Schools Foundation board.
