Schlichter Bogard Partner Kris Kraft Named to Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in NEC Baby Formula Multidistrict Litigation
As reported by Law.com, Kris Kraft, a partner in Schlichter Bogard & Denton’s Pharmaceutical and Consumer Protection practice groups, has been appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in multidistrict litigation alleging that Similac® and Enfamil® infant formulas have caused necrotizing enterocolitis (“NEC”)—resulting in severe illness and death in premature babies. This appointment was made on May 5 by order of U.S. District Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer.
The litigation is brought against Defendants Abbott Laboratories, producer of Similac®, and Mead Johnson, manufacturer of Enfamil®, on behalf of prematurely born infants and their families. In its Order, the District Court emphasized each member of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee’s impressive qualifications. Kris’s appointment to the Steering Committee is expected to be finalized on or about June 17, 2022.
