Health Data Privacy Lawsuit Against Humana Brought on Behalf of Plaintiffs Represented by Schlichter Bogard Will Proceed

As reported by VitalLaw, a federal court has allowed claims to proceed in a lawsuit alleging that Humana improperly disclosed individuals’ health information through tracking technologies embedded on its websites and online platforms.

The lawsuit, brought on behalf of plaintiffs represented by Schlichter Bogard, alleges that tracking tools transmitted users’ sensitive health-related information to third parties without the authorization required by law. The court’s ruling permits the case to move forward as plaintiffs seek to hold Humana accountable for the alleged collection and disclosure of protected health information.

The case is part of a growing body of litigation concerning the use of tracking technologies by healthcare organizations and the privacy rights of patients and plan participants. The ruling allows plaintiffs to continue pursuing claims related to the alleged unauthorized disclosure and use of health information.
