Missouri Lawyers Weekly Highlights $2.75 million Verdict Obtained by Schlichter Bogard on Behalf of BNSF Worker

Missouri Lawyers Weekly has featured a recent case resulting in a $2.75 million verdict obtained by Schlichter Bogard on behalf of a BNSF Railway worker.

After 20 years of employment with BNSF, Douglas Overfield was injured in February 2018 while working on a locomotive in the Lindenwood Railyard in St. Louis. Overfield filed a claim under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act asserting that BNSF was negligent in failing to provide him with the proper protective equipment to prevent such an injury from occurring. Following a two-week trial in October 2023, the jury returned a $2.75 million verdict for Mr. Overfield.
