Schlichter Bogard Obtains $2 Million Settlement on Behalf of Deceased Railroad Worker’s Family

As reported by Missouri Lawyers Media, Schlichter Bogard has obtained a $2 million settlement on behalf of a deceased railroad worker who was crushed beneath a freight train while on duty.

On November 11, 2020, Mr. Brandon Warnick was working as a trainman in Tuscola, Illinois when he was thrown from a moving freight train after attempting to push aside a chain-linked fence gate that was partially obstructing the tracks. Mr. Warnick tragically fell beneath the locomotive and had his torso severed.

The lawsuit was originally filed on April 14, 2021 by Kathy Warnick, the mother of the fallen railroader. The case ultimately settled one month before trial.
